Ms. Grace A. Tubbs

Grace A. Tubbs, 84, of Mount Ida, went to her heavenly home on her favorite day of the year, Wednesday December 25, 2013, surrounded by her family. She spent half of Christmas day here with her family, then heaven with her loved ones. She was born May 8, 1929, to Dr. R.M. and Maude Murphy of Havana, AR. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, O.J. Tubbs; her daughter, Murphya Moore; 5 Brothers and 3 Sisters. She was a homemaker, a devoted mother and memmy.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ed Talley; a son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Chris Tubbs; a son-in-law Johnnie Moore; a very special nephew, Richard Childress and his wife Jo; All of Mount Ida; 5 Grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who she loved dearly and several close family and friends.

There will be a family visitation Friday, December 27, 2013, 6-8 p.m. at Thornton Funeral Home in Mount Ida. Services will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at The First Baptist Church of Mount Ida. Interment will follow at the Mount Ida Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Childress, Paul Childress, Scott Talley, B.J. Tubbs, Andrew Reynolds and Chris Harrod. Honorary Pallbearers are; The Staff of the Montgomery County Nursing Home. Arrangements were made under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida.
